BRISTOL TOWNSHIP — A woman was left for more than six hours with a broken leg on the shoulder of the Pennsylvania Turnpike after a hit-and-run accident early Monday.

Pennsylvania State Police said they found Daria Katkova, 21, lying on the westbound shoulder of the turnpike in Bristol Township at around 9 a.m.

Katkova, of Philadelphia, told authorities she was struck while walking on the turnpike around 2:30 a.m. after her friend drove off without her.

“After being struck, she crawled off the roadway,” the police report stated.

She was taken to an unidentified area hospital, where she was treated for a broken leg and several abrasions.
